About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct comprehensive interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable individuals
Review appropriate records to obtain facts
Resolve material issues in cases
Establish the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of investigation subjects
Conduct interviews via virtual teleconference, phone, and in-person meetings, with VTC as the primary method
Attend multiweek intensive virtual online training
Complete additional shadowing and mentorship with an experienced Investigator
Potentially travel across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting two weeks

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of general experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in problem solving, planning and organizing work, and communicating effectively orally and in writing
Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation
Strong sense of mission in supporting national security initiatives
Impeccable work ethic, integrity, and a positive, can-do attitude
Ability to navigate and utilize multiple technology systems simultaneously
Current driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel locally depending on assignment location
Home office within reasonable distance to workload areas
Reliable high-speed Internet
Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended periods
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to communicate complex or sensitive information effectively
Ability to listen attentively, respond appropriately to nonverbal cues, and make clear oral presentations
Ability to maintain relationships with diverse individuals and handle challenging situations professionally
Correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 is nice to have
