About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, records, sites, integrations, and expression rules
- Build and maintain Appian Connected Systems and Integration Objects for system-to-system data exchange
- Develop reusable components, data types, and expression rules
- Collaborate with Appian Configuration Analysts, business analysts, and subject matter experts to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives
- Conduct unit testing and code reviews; support integration testing, UAT, and defect resolution
- Optimize application performance through efficient query design, caching strategies, and Appian best practices
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Support application packaging, environment promotion, and release validation
- Mentor junior developers on Appian development best practices, design patterns, and Federal acquisition domain knowledge
Requirements
What you’ll need- US citizen with ability to pass Tier 2 background investigation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field of study; 3+ additional years of relevant IT experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- 3–7 years of experience in software development
- At least 1 year of Appian development or low-code platform experience
- Experience developing applications using low-code/no-code platforms or business process management tools
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, object-oriented programming concepts, and database design
- Proficiency with web services, APIs, or system integration development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to code quality and maintainability
