About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deploy, install, configure, maintain, and monitor active network equipment including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
- Implement security measures and proactively optimize network performance
- Monitor and resolve network-related service tickets
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and network design documentation
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords
- Perform network upgrades to maintain system integrity and availability
- Support and administer third-party applications
- Ensure IT infrastructure security and efficiency according to industry standards
- Support the customer's data communications network
- Monitor the network to ensure availability to system users
- Support dev ops, applied technology investigations, operations and maintenance, and infrastructure lifecycle services across the ODNI enterprise
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
- Experience working with and troubleshooting Cisco and/or Juniper network vendor platforms
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, static routing, OSPF, BGP, policy-based routing, zone-based firewall policies, ACLs, SSH, and VPNs
- Knowledge of network management platforms such as SolarWinds
- Demonstrated understanding of IPv4 networks
- Experience with network device hardening according to industry best practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft, Unix, Linux, and other operating systems
- Must be able to travel between facilities in McLean, VA; Bethesda, MD; and Washington, DC
- Up to 25% local travel
- Cisco CCNP or Juniper JCNIP certifications or minimum Senior/Expert skill level (desired)
- Experience automating network tasks using Ansible or Python (desired)
- Familiarity with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud (desired)
- VMware experience (desired)
- CompTIA Network+, CCNP, or CCNA (desired)
