Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct comprehensive record reviews with employers, educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, courts, and other knowledgeable individuals
Use approved system accesses to obtain facts and resolve material issues in background-investigation cases
Determine the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of investigation subjects
Use technology, electronic tools, and multiple systems simultaneously to review records
Submit record requests and conduct reviews using VTC, phone interviews, fax, and DoD Safe
Perform occasional local in-person follow-up and obtain money orders when required
Potentially gain exposure to various investigation contracts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum clearance required to start: Top Secret
Customer credential or ability to obtain it based on National Training Standard certification and recent background-investigation experience for this customer
Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of general experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in problem solving, planning and organizing work, and communicating effectively orally and in writing
Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation
Ability to navigate and utilize multiple technology systems simultaneously
Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams
Ability to functionally use the internet to research information
Current driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel locally depending on assignment location
Home office with reliable high-speed Internet and fax capabilities
Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended periods
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to properly account for a corporate credit card and complete required expense processes
