About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, configure, and optimize SAP Data Services (BODS) ETL/ELT workflows, dataflows, and mappings across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, and non-SAP systems
Translate complex business requirements into accurate source-to-target mappings with robust transformation logic
Develop extraction routines using SAP HANA tables, extractors, RFCs, APIs, web services, flat files, and cloud platforms
Build data cleansing, standardization, validation, and business rule processing routines
Implement data profiling and assessment routines to identify patterns, gaps, anomalies, and quality issues
Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot job executions to resolve performance challenges and eliminate bottlenecks
Architect and deliver high-quality, mission-focused data solutions supporting DoD transportation operations
Collaborate with cross-functional experts in Planning, Procurement, Fulfillment, Financials, Application Development, Security, GRC, and Identity & Access Management
Support USTRANSCOM’s global mission through SAP S/4HANA transportation and logistics solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum requirement)
3–5+ years of experience in Data Integration/Warehousing, including 3+ years dedicated to SAP Data Services development
Strong understanding of SAP table structures, data models, extractors, and end-to-end business processes
Expertise in advanced BODS transformations, high-performance ETL patterns, parallel processing, and optimization techniques
Proven experience integrating SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP MDG, and SAP Information Steward
SQL scripting
Shell scripting (Unix/Linux)
Familiarity with ABAP for automation
Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data models and business processes across FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR
Advanced SQL, performance tuning, and database optimization skills
Experience with SAP HANA pushdown optimization, integration, and modern data warehousing techniques
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
Prior experience supporting USTRANSCOM programs or transportation operations (desired)
Alignment with DoD transportation doctrine, including DTR and DoD FMR requirements (desired)
Experience applying Clean Core principles within SAP S/4HANA environments (desired)
