About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the functional authority for SAP Yard Logistics and Extended Warehouse Management within S/4HANA environments
Design and configure solutions for yard structure, checkpoints, gate processing, vehicle check-in/check-out, dock door assignment, yard task management, and warehouse execution
Support warehouse inbound, outbound, internal movement, inventory management, staging, picking, packing, and shipping operations
Lead integration efforts between EWM, Yard Logistics, and Transportation Management modules
Enable visibility of shipments, assets, and inventory across the supply chain
Collaborate with SD, MM, TM, FI/CO/FM, and Asset/EAM functional teams
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
Translate operational needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional designs
Partner with Product Owners to prioritize logistics and warehouse capabilities
Conduct fit-gap analysis between current operations and SAP S/4HANA EWM/YL capabilities
Develop functional specifications and configuration designs
Lead and support SIT/UAT and validate end-to-end logistics scenarios
Support cutover planning, deployment, post-go-live stabilization, and operational readiness
Analyze operations to identify efficiency gains, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities
Drive continuous improvement based on user feedback, operational metrics, and industry best practices
Ensure accuracy of inventory data, yard status, and logistics transactions
Support operational reporting and executive dashboards
Troubleshoot complex integration and process issues and provide root cause analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need

An active DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
7–10+ years of SAP functional experience with deep expertise in EWM and Yard Logistics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Deep, hands-on experience with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) in S/4HANA environments
Expert-level knowledge of SAP Yard Logistics (YL) functionality and configuration
Strong understanding of SAP Transportation Management (TM) integration points
Solid knowledge of SD and MM modules
Experience with warehouse processes including inbound/outbound, inventory management, staging, picking, packing, and shipping
Understanding of yard operations including gate processing, vehicle management, dock door assignment, and yard tasks
Proven track record designing and optimizing end-to-end logistics execution
Deep understanding of physical logistics operations and how they map to SAP processes
Experience with complex, multi-site warehouse and yard operations
Knowledge of inventory valuation, asset management, and financial integration points
Demonstrated experience working within Agile development teams
Ability to participate effectively in sprint and Agile ceremonies
Experience translating business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria
Track record of delivering iterative enhancements in fast-paced environments
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong requirements gathering and fit-gap analysis capabilities
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Experience leading testing efforts (SIT, UAT) and supporting deployment activities
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide root cause analysis
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
SAP certification in EWM, Yard Logistics, or Transportation Management (desired)
Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or upgrades (desired)
Knowledge of DoD or government logistics operations and requirements (desired)
Experience with data migration and master data management (desired)
Familiarity with warehouse automation technologies such as RFID and barcode scanning (desired)
Experience with SAP Fiori apps for logistics execution (desired)
Understanding of integration technologies including APIs, IDocs, and middleware (desired)
Experience with reporting tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud and Business Warehouse (desired)
Background in Lean or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies (desired)
