About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, configure, test, deploy, and maintain ServiceNow applications
- Develop custom scoped applications using ServiceNow App Engine, App Engine Studio, and ServiceNow Studio
- Design application data models, custom tables, relationships, business logic, security models, and user experiences
- Develop and maintain Service Portal applications, pages, widgets, and client- and server-side functionality
- Develop advanced solutions using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs, Glide APIs, and other scripting capabilities
- Design and implement application security using roles, ACLs, application scopes, and security best practices
- Develop workflows and automation using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, subflows, actions, and scripted automation
- Develop and maintain REST, SOAP, Scripted REST, and other integrations with external enterprise systems
- Create reusable application components and development patterns for maintainable, enterprise-scale implementation
- Troubleshoot application, scripting, integration, performance, and platform issues
- Participate in application architecture and technical design sessions
- Translate functional and technical requirements into technical designs and working solutions
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to ServiceNow coding standards
- Support testing, defect resolution, release management, and production deployment
- Collaborate with business analysts, solution owners, architects, stakeholders, and other developers
- Provide technical demonstrations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Support existing ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and other enterprise capabilities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, solutioning, testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- DoD Secret Clearance
- 12+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with ServiceNow ITOM Discovery, CMDB, and Service Mapping capabilities
- Certified ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA)
- Advanced experience with ServiceNow implementation and development (ITSM, ITOM, SPM)
- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting, including Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions
- Proficiency in REST/SOAP APIs and web technologies including HTML, CSS, and AJAX
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
