About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead data center management services for CA IT infrastructure, including server platforms across 350+ global facilities
  • Lead server installation support services, including non-routine emergency services across worldwide Consular facilities
  • Lead design and implementation of physical and virtual hosting environments supporting CA IT systems for 40,000+ users
  • Provide engineering and design services for Windows and UNIX/Linux server platforms
  • Perform operating system configuration and security fixes, software application installations and upgrades, and Oracle database changes during deployments
  • Lead Hardware Configuration Management for designated configurable items
  • Lead site surveys and provide recommendations for facility renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and server equipment placement
  • Develop and maintain server refresh plans for worldwide Consular facilities
  • Build DevSecOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines using Ansible, Terraform, SonarQube, and automation
  • Plan and lead major server engineering initiatives, mentor team members, and supervise infrastructure support staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years of experience in related fields; equivalencies considered
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proven experience leading server engineering for large-scale, geographically distributed environments supporting thousands of users
  • Expertise in Windows Server and UNIX/Linux platforms, Hardware Configuration Management (HCM), and Oracle database administration
  • Proficiency with DevSecOps tools and advanced CI/CD pipeline development, particularly Ansible, Terraform, and automation frameworks
  • Experience planning and leading major infrastructure initiatives, functioning as a subject matter expert, and supervising server engineering teams
  • Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of State (desired)
  • Experience with international deployments, server refresh planning, and coordination with worldwide Consular facilities (desired)
  • Professional certifications such as VCP, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, RHCE, or Oracle Certified Professional (desired)
  • Knowledge of site survey procedures, capacity planning, and emergency infrastructure support for mission-critical systems (desired)
