About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and implement software requirement verification and validation test plans and procedures
  • Perform software integration, requirement analysis, test planning and execution, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and coordination for remediating software defects
  • Write test procedure scripts in Perl, Python, Linux, and automated software test tools
  • Conduct test walkthroughs
  • Communicate plans, status, and out-briefs with IPT leads, team members, and the customer
  • Deliver full-stack features from implementation through deployment
  • Drive features through review, testing, and deployment while identifying integration issues and edge cases
  • Develop clean, maintainable, testable, production-ready code
  • Create unit and integration tests, debug issues, and contribute to code reviews
  • Assist junior engineers through questions, pairing, troubleshooting, and integration guidance
  • Help onboard new team members with workflows and tools
  • Work with REST APIs, microservices, cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test frameworks
  • Clarify requirements with product and design partners
  • Communicate progress and challenges, participate in technical discussions, and document work
  • Learn technologies relevant to automation, integration, and system reliability
  • Identify opportunities to improve code quality, processes, and tooling

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field + 3 years of professional software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3+ years developing, integrating, testing, and deploying software in a professional environment
  • Solid skills in at least one modern language: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#
  • Experience in test automation scripting and languages: Python, Bash, or Perl
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and tools such as PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, Postman/Newman, or Cucumber
  • Experience with version control, including Git
  • Experience with code reviews and Agile/Scrum teams
  • Experience building or working with RESTful APIs and web applications
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to work in the office at least 3 days per week, up to 5 days per week once obtaining a security clearance
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Desired: experience with Spring Boot, React, or similar modern frameworks
  • Desired: experience deploying applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Desired: familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Desired: experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Desired: understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools
  • Desired: experience with microservices architectures
  • Desired: experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated industries
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
