About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the end-to-end design and rollout of the CACI Manufacturing Excellence framework across all manufacturing sites
  • Establish standard work, deployment playbooks, training curricula, governance cadence, site assessment methodology, and certification/recognition structure
  • Define and track leading and lagging manufacturing and supply chain metrics and report progress to the executive team
  • Build the internal coaching and Lean/Six Sigma belt certification pipeline
  • Own the manufacturing technology roadmap and prioritize smart factory investments
  • Champion AI and machine learning applications for predictive maintenance, defect detection, process control, and scheduling
  • Guide advanced Manufacturing Engineering capabilities, including digital twins, MBD/MBE, and simulation-driven process design
  • Evaluate and pilot automation and robotics solutions
  • Build the digital thread linking engineering, planning, and shop-floor execution data
  • Assess technology maturity and adoption readiness across sites
  • Serve as enterprise subject matter expert on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Lead Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events tied to site performance gaps
  • Mentor Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt talent
  • Act as senior escalation point for production disruptions, quality escapes, capacity shortfalls, and program-jeopardy situations
  • Lead structured problem-solving, containment, root cause, and corrective action for critical issues
  • Maintain an on-call posture so surge support can be redirected to high-risk sites or programs
  • Build and lead a high-performing Manufacturing Excellence organization
  • Represent manufacturing excellence priorities in engineering, program management, and product development forums
  • Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, EH&S, and Site Operations leadership
  • Present framework maturity, technology adoption, and critical issue status to executives, customers, or Government program offices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 18 years professional experience
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Lean Manufacturing subject matter expertise, including TPS-based principles
  • Six Sigma subject matter expertise; Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification required
  • Expertise in Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events
  • Experience designing and deploying an enterprise-level Manufacturing Excellence or continuous improvement framework across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Knowledge of smart factory/Industry 4.0, MES/MOM platforms, digital twin, and applied AI/ML for manufacturing
  • Track record of moving manufacturing technology pilots into scaled production use
  • Experience in a regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment, including AS9100, ITAR, and/or NADCAP-governed processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and urgency and personally engage on the manufacturing floor during critical events
  • Executive-level presence and strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with MRL/TRL-based producibility assessments and early manufacturing input into NPI gate reviews
  • Familiarity with EVM and its interaction with manufacturing cost and schedule performance on aerospace and defense programs
  • Experience building or scaling an internal Lean/Six Sigma belt certification and coaching program
  • Working knowledge of organizational design and benchmarking approaches for manufacturing excellence functions
  • Hands-on exposure to advanced Manufacturing Engineering tools, automation/robotics deployment, or MBD/MBE practices
  • Up to 25% local travel
