About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Engineer, design, operate, and maintain data-center virtual infrastructure across a geographically dispersed enterprise network supporting AFRICOM operations
Design, document, build, integrate, implement, and test virtual infrastructure solutions
Perform ongoing operations and maintenance of the virtual infrastructure environment
Provide training and knowledge transfer for transition of systems to IT Operations Management
Analyze hardware and software lifecycle requirements and recommend enterprise standardization approaches
Evaluate and recommend best-practice data-center and virtual infrastructure technology solutions
Provide remote technical support and on-site support as required in Djibouti and other Horn of Africa locations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Relevant major certification + 7 years of recent specialized experience
VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) and/or VMware Certified Professional – VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator (VCP-VCF)
CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II or greater)
Strong engineering background in design, implementation, migration, operations, and maintenance of enterprise data-center technologies
Strong knowledge of lifecycle management for Cisco, VMware, and NetApp hardware and software
Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus products
Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS, UCS Manager, and Fabric Interconnects
Hands-on experience with NetApp storage solutions, SAN configurations, and SnapMirror
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi
Demonstrated experience with private cloud virtualization and virtual networking in VMware environments
Ability to analyze complex technical environments and recommend solutions
Writes and speaks clearly
Presents products, solutions, and ideas professionally
Experience interfacing with customers, project managers, clients, and system stakeholders
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring team interaction and coordination
