About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply interdisciplinary engineering skills to technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses
Create and maintain components of a virtual system
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document virtual system problems according to approved procedures
Verify proper operation of the system
Optimize and resolve issues in the virtualized environment and load cycling process
Review, correct, and develop BASH, PowerShell, and Python scripts to automate system load cycling, configuration procedures, and routine tasks
Provide inputs to and review documentation for the assigned area of responsibility
Write and submit new procedures for review as required
Develop tools to expand insight into virtual system operation and performance
Develop tools to improve provisioning of virtualized systems
Provide startup and shutdown support for development and deployed systems
Support delivery, installation, configuration, and light-off of virtual systems
Report status at internal and customer meetings
Translate customer requirements into technical specifications while accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering discipline
Entry-level position; no prior work experience required
Secret-level security clearance
US Citizenship required to obtain a DoD security clearance
Proficiency with Linux Operating Systems
Working knowledge of Aegis Combat/Weapon Systems
Working knowledge of bash/csh/PowerShell/Python scripting
Working knowledge of software defined networking principles and technologies, including VMware NSX and Cisco ACI
Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/RedHawk systems
Working knowledge of virtual machine platforms, including VMware ESXi and vCenter, KVM/QEMU
Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and/or NX-OS network appliance operating systems
Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and YAML data serialization
Up to 10% travel required
Minimum Secret clearance required to start
