About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and oversee company-owned and rented equipment
  • Manage the repair and maintenance program
  • Maintain equipment inventory and track equipment locations
  • Maintain critical spares and spare-parts inventories
  • Ensure equipment remains in good operating condition and repairs are completed timely
  • Report to the Vessel Manager
  • Report to project management on projects regarding fuel and servicing intervals, deliveries, and non-critical repair scheduling
  • Track daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports and inspections
  • Maintain repair records
  • Requisition spare parts and supplies
  • Track and requisition fuel, lubricant, and water
  • Monitor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components on dredges and support equipment
  • Enforce equipment-related safety rules and regulations
  • Initiate corrective and preventative actions
  • Participate in safety and environmental initiatives supporting State/Federal regulatory compliance and company programs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience with equipment management
  • Experience supervising staff/crew members
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance skills

  • Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to work as directed and complete work timely and correctly
  • Ability to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations
  • Reliable and motivated
  • Ability to obtain TWIC
  • Knowledge of various types of marine equipment, tools, and devices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable workplace accommodation
  • Ability to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to walk, step, climb, stand, stoop, twist, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, climb, or sit repetitively or for long periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements with feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs individually; loads over 30 lbs and up to 60 lbs require additional lifting means
  • Ability to push and pull at peak force of 150 lbs
  • Ability to climb stairs and/or vertical ladders 6 ft or greater
  • Ability to adapt to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, dusty, wet, humid, loud, and vibrating environments
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
