About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own go-to-market strategy across automotive and other emerging SMB verticals
  • Set positioning, messaging, investment priorities, acquisition plans, and revenue goals
  • Monitor customers, new MRR, churn, ARPU, conversion rate, and product adoption
  • Report business performance and strategic insights to leadership
  • Serve as subject matter expert on the automotive aftermarket
  • Own automotive buyer personas, value propositions, positioning, and messaging
  • Build customer stories, benchmarks, and ROI framing
  • Track competitors and provide intelligence to product, sales, and leadership
  • Validate market requirements through interviews, surveys, win/loss analysis, sales insight, and usage data
  • Represent CallRail at trade shows, speaking engagements, webinars, panels, and podcasts
  • Own positioning and messaging for emerging SMB verticals
  • Size and pressure-test new market opportunities and recommend investment or abandonment
  • Run lightweight tests of positioning, messaging, and proof
  • Coordinate sales, product marketing, customer marketing, demand generation, and product development
  • Consult on campaigns and content as messaging authority
  • Partner with product development to influence the roadmap
  • Train sales and support teams and develop enablement tools and collateral

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/BA and 4–6 years of experience in a strategic marketing role focused on small business buyers, including direct experience marketing to automotive businesses
  • Track record of owning a strategy end to end and being accountable for results
  • Experience entering or evaluating a new market, sizing the opportunity, building the case, and standing up positioning
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort with data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confidence and presence to represent a point of view to senior leaders and external audiences
  • Ability to influence and align cross-functional partners without formal authority
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment, prioritizing, making tradeoffs, and shifting between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Expected to leverage AI platforms to streamline operations, solve complex problems, and stay ahead of industry benchmarks
