About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own delivery of technical projects and mentor junior Data Engineers
  • Drive engineering standards and best practices
  • Architect, build, tune, and automate scalable Snowflake-based frameworks
  • Develop data privacy, database object management, pipeline orchestration, environment management, and RBAC solutions
  • Partner with Data Modeling to design scalable data models and warehouse layers
  • Optimize Snowflake performance through query tuning, compute sizing, and workload isolation
  • Partner with analytics, product, data engineering, and business teams
  • Ensure implementation quality, performant code, thorough testing, documentation, and platform observability
  • Build and optimize CI/CD Snowflake frameworks, Airflow orchestration libraries, database cloning capabilities, data masking solutions, row-level access policies, and data engineering automation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 7–8 years of relevant experience in data platform engineering or data engineering, including senior or lead-level experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • Deep expertise with Snowflake, SQL, dbt or other ETL tools, and ELT/ETL design patterns
  • Expert-level knowledge of developing Python applications and Snowflake Streamlit applications
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar frameworks
  • Experience developing stored procedures using SQL or Python, preferably in Snowflake
  • Experience building Python-based applications on Snowpark Container Services
  • Experience calling and building REST API applications
  • Familiarity with Airflow, Snowflake Tasks, or similar orchestration tools
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization technologies
  • Strong data modeling, pipeline design, and performance optimization skills
  • Experience migrating between platforms and integrating data into target-platform tables
  • Strong data profiling skills, including identifying keys and determining cardinality, data type, precision, scale, and skew
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Background in a supported business area preferred
  • Healthcare or complex enterprise data experience, semantic layers, metadata management, streaming data, and AI pipelines are nice to have
  • Background check required
  • Wired internet connection required for work-from-home option; minimum 5Mb upload and 10Mb download speeds
  • Personal mobile device required for MFA
