About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide analytical support for sales and broker performance by mining data, conducting analysis, and interpreting results
  • Review health plan operations data to assist with cost containment strategies
  • Design and develop analytical models and reports
  • Develop advanced methodologies and enterprise-level reporting solutions for senior-level work
  • Identify issues, problems, or needed changes and recommend resolutions
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts
  • Develop knowledge of health plan operations, data sources, structures, and cost containment strategies
  • Identify needed reporting, assemble or direct report assembly, and distribute information
  • Perform or direct acceptance testing of reports, programs, and models
  • Document business requirements and methods used to generate work output
  • Drive analytic innovation, best practices, data governance standards, and process improvements
  • Serve as a resource on analytic programming tools and methods
  • Oversee and direct analysts on projects and assist with staff training
  • Lead meetings with internal and external constituents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Data Reporting Analyst: bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, computer science or related field and 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Data Reporting Analyst Senior: bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, computer science or related field and 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Keen to highly advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to document business requirements
  • Solid to advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of health plan operations, data sources, and data structures
  • Knowledge of or advanced knowledge of data mining tools and methods including SAS and OLAP
  • Knowledge of or advanced knowledge of server reporting services including SPSS, Minitab, and Tableau
  • Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods including SAS, SQL, OLAP, Business Objects, and Crystal
  • Ability to design and develop reporting tools and dashboards
  • Business knowledge in finance, accounting, economics, risk management, public health economics, social service research, or epidemiology
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize assignments across multiple projects
  • Demonstrated project management success
  • Senior role: progressively responsible work experience in leadership roles and ability to represent the division in internal meetings
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies highly desired
  • Background check required
  • New hires must have access to a personal mobile device for MFA
  • Work-from-home option requires wired internet, minimum 5Mb upload and 10Mb download speeds, not satellite or cellular
