Key responsibilities & impact

Manage enterprise data governance operations and Cambia Data Platform governance, including data stewardship, data quality, metadata management, data classification, and semantic layer governance
Develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards while ensuring regulatory and internal-policy compliance
Partner with data domain leaders to advance governance maturity and build a data stewardship community
Identify and implement process improvements and establish and track governance-operation KPIs
Directly manage FTE and contractor team members, including performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development
Build relationships with IT, Security, Compliance, Privacy, and business-unit stakeholders
Develop and execute strategic plans for enterprise and Cambia Data Platform governance
Contribute hands-on to team deliverables as needed
Oversee data quality, lineage, and metadata-management activities to create trusted, well-understood data assets
Provide direction to the team, engage members toward common goals, and create a positive employee experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Data Management, or related technical field, and 5+ years in data governance operations, 3+ years of people management experience leading technical and/or business-facing teams, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive experience leading data governance operations, including data stewardship, metadata management, data quality initiatives, data classification, and semantic layer governance with contextual metadata management
Experience with cloud data platforms, ideally Snowflake, including governance features, data governance platforms, and data catalog tools
Ability to develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards that enable AI-ready data understanding
Experience supporting legacy and modern enterprise technology environments
Familiarity with compliance requirements related to data governance
Ability to contribute hands-on to technical work across data governance activities
Experience leading, motivating, and developing business-facing and technical teams, including managing FTE and contractor resources
Strong project and program management capabilities
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences
Ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences and business needs for technical teams
Outcome-focused leadership and accountability, including managing dotted-line relationships effectively
Strategic thinking, operational execution, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to balance compliance, operational efficiency, and business enablement with a change management and process improvement orientation
Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making in professional settings highly desired
Background check required
