About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Measure, gauge, and record temperatures of various materials in shore tanks
  • Collect samples from barges
  • Conduct field calculations in accordance with company guidelines and American Petroleum Institute (API) standards
  • Collect, label, and promptly deliver samples to the laboratory
  • Document inspection findings and prepare comprehensive reports for management review
  • Evaluate equipment, processes, and safety measures for compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the inspector trainer to identify improvement opportunities and implement risk-mitigation strategies
  • Perform other duties as defined

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of safety regulations and quality control processes in petroleum operations
  • Strong math comprehension skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in various outdoor environments and adhere to safety protocols
  • Workday may consist of 8-12 hours
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, often in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods
  • Must be able to pass a Fit for Duty test
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
