About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a portfolio of grants funded by global funders, including Bloomberg Philanthropies
  • Review, analyze, monitor, and evaluate grant proposals, work plans, budgets, and reports
  • Provide ongoing grant monitoring and programmatic and financial support to grantees
  • Coordinate grant negotiation and submission processes for new, renewal, and sub-grant extension grants
  • Serve as the point person for grant processing and reporting
  • Prepare accurate and timely grant summaries, report analyses, inquiry responses, and grant histories
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors, Program and Technical Advisors, and in-country consultants to monitor and support subgrant partners
  • Conduct grant partners’ site visits and virtual visits for programmatic and financial compliance support
  • Support capacity building for in-country consultants on grant processes and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with organizational, U.S., and national regulations and requirements
  • Perform other departmental duties as requested
  • Report to the Senior Program and Financial Compliance Officer, International Grants Department
  • Work closely with Regional Directors and in-country consultants

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of work experience in international grants, global public health, public policy, advocacy, or some combination thereof
  • Bachelor’s degree in public interest, health, or international field is preferred
  • Experience working internationally, preferably in Africa and Asia with civil society and government structures
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency in French or an African language is highly desired
  • Ability to evaluate, track, monitor, and determine whether grantees’ financial internal control systems meet program requirements
  • Excellent communication and ability to work with people from diverse cultures and countries
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and perform effectively under pressure
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to travel internationally as necessary
  • Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and adaptability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft 365, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Database experience with Fluxx is preferred
