About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop a test strategy covering all levels, from unit and API tests through to end-to-end (E2E) testing
Build an automation framework across a diverse system landscape
Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
Ensure reproducible test environments and reliable test data
Use monitoring and observability to detect genuine production issues
Feed production issues back into test coverage
Establish the process from customer report to ticket creation
Reproduce, qualify, and hand over development-ready bug reports from Support
Convert relevant defect cases into automated regression tests
Collaborate with colleagues in Quality Management
Continuously develop quality assurance practices
Communicate clearly and proactively with product managers and stakeholders
Negotiate quality gates and define the Definition of Done
Perform root cause analyses of defects
Support developers in creating automated and standardized documentation with AI
Capture and preserve acquired knowledge to prevent recurring issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience in test automation
Experience developing a test strategy from the ground up
Full-stack experience with PHP
Knowledge of PHPUnit, Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, Cypress, and Selenium
Experience with TypeScript and Node.js
Knowledge of Playwright, Vitest, and Jest
Experience with automated testing of React frontends
Strong ability to write unit, E2E, and integration tests
Solid knowledge of CI/CD and containerization
Knowledge of Bitbucket Cloud and Docker
Practical experience with accessibility testing, e.g., axe and Lighthouse, is a plus
Experience with monitoring and observability tools is a plus
Ability to turn vague customer descriptions into reproducible defect cases
Strong commitment to quality and willingness to share knowledge
Excellent German skills (C1 minimum)
Confident working proficiency in English (B2)
Completed degree in Computer Science, comparable IT vocational training with relevant practical experience, or the necessary knowledge and commitment
