About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor scheduled data loads, ETL processes, and reporting activities
Investigate and resolve data, reporting, and application support issues
Perform data validation and reconciliation activities
Assist with incident response and problem resolution
Escalate issues appropriately and document resolutions
Maintain support and operational procedures
Monitor overnight production ETL processes on weeknights by responding to database-related alerts and escalations
Provide database-related support on weekends as required
Develop and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and scripts
Support data integration and transformation processes
Assist with database troubleshooting and performance analysis
Participate in testing and validation activities for data initiatives
Help automate recurring operational and reporting tasks
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI and other reporting platforms
Support business users with reporting requests and data inquiries
Monitor data quality and report accuracy
Assist in documenting business definitions and reporting standards
Identify opportunities for reporting and process improvements
Assist with implementation of enterprise data solutions
Support Snowflake and Microsoft-based data platforms
Contribute to data modeling, integration, and migration initiatives
Participate in data governance and quality activities
Work closely with senior Data Engineers and Data Architects on project delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
3 to 5 years experience working with data, reporting, SQL, business intelligence, or application support
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Interest in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise data platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly
Strong communication and organizational skills
Candidates selected for interviews must show proof of citizenship, permanent residence, or eligibility to work in Canada with no restrictions
Preferred: Experience with SQL Server or Snowflake
Preferred: Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting tools
Preferred: Familiarity with ETL or data integration concepts
Preferred: Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or cloud technologies
Preferred: Experience supporting business applications or production environments
Preferred: Knowledge of financial services
Preferred: Experience with PowerShell, Python, or automation tools
