About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide individual and group protocol-based structured psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT)
  • Deliver treatment to individuals experiencing mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions
  • Participate in regular clinical consultation to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to the OSP Clinical Model
  • Incorporate anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices and principles in client-centered, trauma-informed care
  • Collaborate with clients, family members, referral sources, community partners, and the OSP program network
  • Provide accessible, equitable, inclusive, culturally appropriate, and relevant care, including interpretation services where applicable
  • Consider social determinants of health and trauma-informed approaches to care
  • Contribute to ongoing program development and program evaluation
  • Implement new practices as required
  • Report to the Manager of Client Services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Masters of Social Work Degree from an accredited university with current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers; or Masters of Counselling Degree currently registered with The College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario
  • Masters of Occupational Therapy and/or a Masters of Nursing in good standing with a college regulated to perform the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy in Ontario, and regulated to practice the controlled act of Psychotherapy
  • Experience in the provision of mental health and/or addictions treatment
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based CBT treatment models with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions
  • Documented evidence of formal CBT and CPT training with appropriate supervision/clinical consultation preferred
  • Additional training in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practiced skills in culturally safe and responsive mental health services preferred
  • Experience working in a community-based or outpatient setting
  • Fluency in French and/or proficiency in a second language considered an asset
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work 35 hours/week with flexible hours
  • Current professional registration in Ontario as applicable to the qualifying degree
