About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze BESS performance, including downtime, underperforming areas, subsystems, system behavior, availability, and capacity
Analyze KPIs such as BESS Storage Availability, Charge/Discharge Energy, RTE, and SoC
Prepare dashboards, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Calculate major equipment unavailability and liquidated damages, communicate findings, and reconcile with suppliers and owners
Review subcontractor monthly performance reports for accuracy
Prepare client-facing performance reports
Develop tools and automation, including Python scripts, to collect and process data for O&M and BESS plant monitoring
Flag underperforming assets in real time
Model and simulate battery degradation from aging and cycling to establish warranty terms and predict augmentation schedules
Maintain and upgrade programs to keep up with industry trends and emerging technologies
Interface with Engineering, Service, Project Execution teams, subcontractors, and clients

Requirements

What you’ll need

Science or Engineering degree or equivalent
Familiarity with BESS, solar energy, or power systems
Fluent in Python programming, Jupyter notebook environment, and SQL
Knowledge of AWS cloud would be an asset
Strong computer skills and in-depth familiarity with big data analysis
Problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative thinking skills
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write clear, concise reports
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
