About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the shop manager in guiding, inspiring and engaging paid staff and volunteers
- Support the commercial running of the store, including display and merchandising, stock management, shop standards, store layout, sales and income
- Lead by example and provide excellent customer and supporter service
- Work with the shop manager to achieve targets for donated stock, cash, Gift Aid, average selling price, sell-through and stock processing
- Build relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues
- Support the organisation and delivery of creative fundraising events
- Maintain compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies
- Deputise for the shop manager during their absence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Eligible to work in the UK
- Working knowledge of what makes great customer service
- Experience of working in a lively and vibrant environment
- Adaptability in changing situations, including ability to work effectively independently
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to create relationships and communicate well
- Flexibility to work on a rota basis according to store needs
- Ability to undertake varied manual handling and physical activity
- Must be aged 18 or over
- Satisfactory basic DBS check required as a condition of employment
