About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support callers to the suicide hotline through crisis phone interventions
  • Recommend appropriate referrals for available services
  • Answer all phone lines in a timely and professional manner
  • Assess clinical situations and caller needs
  • Provide safe and effective clinical interventions
  • Complete thorough, clear, and accurate clinical documentation
  • Forward internal referrals with required information
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients/customers
  • Monitor call-in times for clients on a 72-Hour Suicide Watch or Safety Follow-Up
  • Work beyond the scheduled shift when crisis situations or incomplete paperwork require it
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Assist the hotline clinical coordinator in training new staff
  • Maintain stocked forms, a clean and organized hotline area, completed required reading, and assigned departmental projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a directly related field required for Therapist roles
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the behavioral health field
  • Crisis Experience preferred
  • Experience working with Veterans and Veteran family members preferred
  • Passion for working in support of Military Veterans, their families, and our military
  • Must be an Arizona resident
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Evening and night hours may be required
  • Must attend required meetings and training, including outside regularly scheduled shifts when necessary
  • Must attend in-person meetings, training, and agency activities and events upon request
