About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply information technology to maximize organizational benefits
  • Support, design, procure, implement and optimize information systems for departments
  • Define and provide recommendations to departments and work with management to achieve patient-care and financial goals
  • Provide project management for projects requiring Information Services & Technology involvement
  • Use project management tools and perform time and cost estimates, analysis, specification, development, implementation, integration and maintenance of assigned systems and programs
  • Determine project tasks and timetables
  • Work with programmers and/or solution vendors to implement design specifications
  • Assign tasks to project team members
  • Update superiors and associates on project problems, status and action items
  • Develop detailed test plans and complete rigorous testing
  • Reconcile project budgets
  • Provide technical assistance and training to user staff, programming and operations personnel
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of team-managed applications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or related field required OR 8 years of work experience in lieu of degree required
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license required
  • 3 year's work history demonstrating knowledge in system analysis of business applications or a related field involving organization and procedures analysis required
  • 1 year healthcare experience required
  • Must take the Epic Sphinx exam and pass/qualify prior to being considered
  • Excellent analysis and testing skills, including data gathering, problem solving, and test plan creation and execution
  • Experience using structured methodologies for application design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance
  • Familiarity with change control methods
  • Ability to manage multiple activities of varying complexity under time constraints
  • Ability to formulate system scope and objectives based on user needs and clinical and/or business requirements
  • Ability to complete application builds and train end-users using a Train the Trainer methodology
  • Ability to monitor and track detailed projects, systems and data analysis
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to plan and manage projects, including resources, staff and goals
  • Hearing and verbal ability to interact professionally with staff, managers and vendors
  • Visual acuity for computerized displays and printouts
  • Manual dexterity to use a standard keyboard
  • Ability to respond to remote locations
