About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee preparation and timely filing of the Company’s Form 10-Qs and 10-Ks
  • Oversee preparation of the Company’s quarterly earnings release
  • Oversee and assist staff in researching, interpreting, and implementing guidance from the FASB, SEC, OCC, and FRB
  • Oversee the corporate federal and state income tax process, including quarterly tax provision preparation/review and federal and state tax return review
  • Apply new tax regulations
  • Oversee preparation and timely completion of reports to the Board of Directors, ALCO, and management
  • Oversee preparation and timely filing of the Call Report and Federal Reserve financial reports
  • Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual allowance for credit losses models and the annual model review
  • Supervise, manage, and direct staff selection, training, development appraisal, and work assignments
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies, procedures, and safety requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Five to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
  • A college degree and a professional certificate (CPA) or a post graduate degree (MBA) is required
  • Knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements/regulations
  • Knowledge of OCC and Federal Reserve financial reporting requirements/regulations
  • Knowledge of computer programs and applications used by accounting and reporting departments
  • Experience in corporate federal and state income tax return preparation and filing
  • Experience in corporate income tax provision preparation
  • Experience in the operations of a financial institution
  • Ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals
  • Professional written communication skills
  • Ability to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to climb/descend stairs in an emergency situation
  • Ability to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator
  • Ability to routinely perform computer work for an average of 6–8 hours per day
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to read and carry out written instructions and follow oral instructions
  • Ability to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence
  • Ability to deal calmly and professionally with diverse personalities and cultures
  • Ability to perform under deadline pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities
