About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution engineers, product owners, and Agile teams to develop, test, and deploy Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and integration solutions
  • Code and configure programs, objects, components, and packaged software
  • Provide technical input into solution design and application functionality
  • Review and validate code, configuration, and supporting documentation
  • Develop maintainable application components focused on quality, performance, security, reliability, recovery, controls, and resource utilization
  • Perform impact assessments across people, processes, data, applications, and integrations
  • Analyze data conversion and data modeling requirements and document implementation approaches
  • Perform quality checks on code, configuration, test evidence, and documentation
  • Apply Test-Driven Development and Behavior-Driven Development practices
  • Support implementation and release activities, troubleshoot environment and production issues, assist with root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Use development automation, test automation results, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and deployment tools
  • Provide limited technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to junior team members
  • Write and refine user stories, technical tasks, and acceptance criteria
  • Estimate work, identify functional design risks, and partner with the Product Owner on implementation and acceptance tests
  • Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, system demos, retrospectives, and Inspect and Adapt activities
  • Commit to PI objectives and sprint goals, communicate progress and impediments, and own assigned deliverables
  • Practice continuous exploration, integration, and deployment to support DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
  • Demonstrate working functionality to Product and Business Owners
  • Share knowledge and best practices, contribute to Communities of Practice, and support continuous improvement
  • Conduct research, design, prototyping, and exploration activities aligned with customer needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, solution engineering, or a related technology field
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Guidewire products, preferably PolicyCenter, including configuration and integration development
  • Experience configuring PolicyCenter product model, business rules, workflows, user interface components, data model extensions, and validation logic using Gosu and Guidewire standards
  • Experience developing page configuration files, business rules, data model extensions, and unit tests such as GUnit tests
  • Experience integrating PolicyCenter with portals and enterprise systems using REST services, Guidewire APIs, messaging, events, message queues, plugins, and batch processes
  • Working knowledge of Guidewire Cloud or SaaS delivery practices preferred
  • Advanced Product Designer experience preferred
  • Jutro Digital Platform exposure is a plus
  • Property and casualty insurance knowledge, including products, coverages, underwriting processes, and integration touchpoints
  • Strong verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills
  • Excellent collaboration and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Strong ownership and accountability for deliverables
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, changing priorities, and multiple concurrent assignments
  • Working knowledge of software design principles, object-oriented programming, declarative concepts, defensive coding, error handling, version control, database concepts, SQL, and CI/CD
  • Working-level understanding of applications within the assigned domain and connected or integrated systems
  • Broad knowledge of insurance concepts, terminology, products, and business processes
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field preferred
  • SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist certification within 180 days of hire required
  • Guidewire Configuration or Integration certification
