About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution engineers, architects, product owners, and Agile teams
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and integration solutions
- Code and configure programs, objects, components, and packaged software
- Provide technical input to solution design and application functionality
- Review and validate team members' code, configuration, and documentation
- Develop reusable, maintainable, performant, secure, and reliable application components
- Perform impact assessments across people, processes, data, applications, and integrations
- Improve manual and automated processes for efficiency, quality, and sustainability
- Apply automation to development, testing, deployment, and operational support
- Perform quality checks on code, configuration, test evidence, and documentation
- Support implementation and release activities, troubleshoot environment and production issues, and perform root cause analysis
- Support CI/CD and DevOps pipelines, automated builds and deployments, release readiness, and production support
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to junior team members
- Break down features and refine user stories with technical tasks and acceptance criteria
- Partner with the Product Owner on implementation and acceptance tests
- Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, system demos, retrospectives, and Inspect and Adapt activities
- Commit to PI objectives and sprint goals, communicate progress and impediments, and own deliverables
- Practice continuous exploration, integration, and deployment
- Conduct research, design, and prototyping activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 7 years of experience in solution engineering, software development, or a related technology field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Guidewire products, preferably PolicyCenter, including configuration and integration development
- Hands-on experience implementing Guidewire PolicyCenter in a SaaS/cloud model or supporting migration from an on-premises or self-managed implementation to SaaS
- Experience designing and developing page configuration files, business rules, data models, extensions, and GUnit tests
- Experience integrating PolicyCenter with internal and external portals and enterprise systems
- Experience with Gosu, REST services, Guidewire APIs, messaging, events, message queues, plugins, and batch processes
- Property and casualty insurance domain knowledge, including products, coverages, underwriting processes, and integration touchpoints
- Strong verbal, written, and listening skills
- Excellent collaboration and team-building skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and recommending viable solutions
- Strong ownership and accountability for deliverables
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, changing priorities, and multiple concurrent assignments
- Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, declarative concepts, defensive coding, error handling, version control, and CI/CD
- Broad knowledge of insurance concepts, terminology, products, and business processes
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Guidewire Configuration and Integration Associate certification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field preferred
