About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Designs and develops computer programs
- Monitors the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with specifications
- Evaluates packaged software
- Conducts system studies to analyze and evaluate manual and computerized processes and improve efficiency
- Develops techniques for automating processes as appropriate
- Conducts and reviews Rough Order of Magnitude estimates for new or changed application functionality
- Determines requirements for system security, backup/recovery, data conversion, and controls
- Plans and controls system development, testing, and implementation
- Manages technical activities and system development projects
- Documents and implements programs according to installation standards and conventions
- Quality-checks program code, related objects, and documentation
- Responds to Production Support issues and works with the business
- Supports implementation and training activities
- Troubleshoots system environmental issues
