About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply deep technical expertise in service provider networking technologies
  • Work hands-on with IOS-XR and IOS-XE devices
  • Work with a broad range of Cisco routers and switches across ASR, CRS, ISR, NCS, c8000, and Catalyst product lines
  • Use and support technologies including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, VPNs, multicast, traffic engineering, security, QoS, redundancy protocols, VLAN technologies, spanning tree protocols, MACsec, PFC, and Segment Routing
  • Contribute to software programmability, automation, orchestration, and/or virtualization initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6 to 10 years of experience
  • Experience in product lines including ASR1K, ASR900, CRS, ISR1K, ISR4K, ASR9K, NCS500, NCS5500, NCS5700, NCS2K, NCS4K, NCS4200, c8000 series routers, Cat9K, Cat8K, and Cat6K series switches
  • Deep technical knowledge of BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, Multicast, Traffic Engineering, Security, QoS, HSRP, VRRP, VLAN, VTP, STP, RSTP, MSTP, MACsec, PFC, and Segment Routing
  • Knowledge of software programmability using Python, Ansible, and REST APIs, automation, orchestration, and/or virtualization is desired
  • Hands-on experience with IOS-XR and IOS-XE devices
  • Primary skills: Service Provider Technologies, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and IOS-XR or IOS-XE
