About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and release of hydraulic sealing components for automotive transmission systems
- Develop technical requirements and specifications for sealing applications
- Support dynamic and static sealing solution development
- Design and validate oil seals, shaft seals, O-rings, gaskets, and related sealing technologies
- Generate and review CAD models and engineering drawings using NX and/or CATIA
- Apply GD&T principles to critical sealing interfaces
- Develop and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R documentation
- Coordinate component and system validation activities
- Investigate fluid leakage, pressure loss, durability, and material performance issues
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Manage engineering changes and release documentation through Teamcenter
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on design-for-manufacturing compliance
- Manage Tier 1 sealing suppliers throughout development
- Support prototype builds, launch activities, and warranty investigations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience in automotive transmission systems, hydraulic systems, or sealing technologies
- Experience with Design Release Engineering activities
- Strong knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Root Cause Analysis
- Experience with NX, CATIA, and/or Teamcenter
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Advanced English proficiency
- Some plant visits and client facilities may be required
