About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own industrial design workstreams from discovery through development.
- Create meaningful physical products and experiences addressing user needs and delivering business value.
- Plan and deliver industrial design activities within interdisciplinary engagements.
- Advise clients within the industrial design area of expertise.
- Translate research and strategy into product propositions, architectures, experiences, and design systems.
- Define differentiated product value propositions, experience principles, product architectures, and design directions.
- Plan and conduct research, facilitate workshops and design sprints, develop user journeys, and guide clients toward decisions on vision, strategy, and execution.
- Conceptualize and communicate physical product experiences through sketching, three-dimensional CAD, renderings, mock-ups, storytelling, and AI-enabled visualization workflows.
- Develop, prototype, test, and refine product concepts considering usability, ergonomics, human factors, sustainable materials, manufacturing methods, assembly, color, materials, and finishes.
- Collaborate across strategy, research, digital design, data, engineering, suppliers, and client teams.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to proposals and pitches.
- Apply AI-enabled tools and emerging methods to accelerate insight, exploration, visualization, and design refinement.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five or more years of professional industrial design experience, supported by a portfolio of recent work that demonstrates highly developed design skills and relevant project contributions.
- Demonstrated ability to own industrial design workstreams and collaborate in multifunctional teams, including experience presenting recommendations, advising clients, and contributing to high-quality delivery outcomes.
- Proficiency in contemporary industrial design tools and methods, including hand sketching, three-dimensional CAD, visualization, renderings, mock-ups, physical and virtual prototyping, design research, user testing, and iterative development.
- Familiarity with AI and generative AI applications that support research, analysis, ideation, visualization, workflow improvement, and solution development, together with an understanding of responsible AI principles.
- Strong AI literacy, including core AI and generative AI concepts, and understanding of their application to enterprise transformation.
- Experience working in AI-augmented ways of working to enhance research, analysis, and solution development.
- Understanding of responsible AI principles such as ethics, privacy, security, and governance.
- Confident presentation and storytelling abilities.
- Business-level English.
- Ability to mentor junior designers.
