About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, deploy, configure, manage, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized applications and infrastructure on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and OpenStack
- Develop, test, and maintain Python and Ansible automation scripts to streamline operational tasks and improve service efficiency
- Lead investigation and resolution of complex, high-severity customer incidents
- Identify root causes and implement effective, durable solutions
- Prepare and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical incidents
- Identify systemic issues and prevent incident recurrence
- Stay current with cloud, containerization, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with developers and product engineers to bridge infrastructure and software
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong knowledge of core networking principles, including TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, firewalls, VLANs, and IP routing
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration, OpenStack platforms, and Docker/containerization
- Knowledge of Podman, Helm, KVM/QEMU, and/or OpenStack is advantageous
- Solid Python scripting skills for task automation and system management
- Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting, or willingness to learn and adapt
- Familiarity with Ansible is required
- Expertise in preparing and implementing Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
- Proven experience with EME (Escalation, Monitoring, and Emergency) management processes
- Understanding of relational databases such as MySQL and MariaDB
- Experience with ETCD
- Certifications listed: Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud Infrastructure (EX210), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat OpenStack (EX310), Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280), and Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Automation and API Management (EX380)
