About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver health coaching, health education services, and multi-session programs
- Support individualized coaching on healthy eating, weight management, goal setting, and wellness topics
- Deliver health education through exhibits, presentations, and engagement opportunities
- Perform biometric screenings using Cholestech analyzers and body composition assessment devices
- Develop and prepare outreach and marketing materials
- Collaborate with internal departments to promote wellness services
- Refer members to appropriate programs, services, tools, and resources
- Review programs and educational materials for accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness
- Provide feedback on program effectiveness and suggest process improvements
- Manage data and compile reports on wellness programs and activities
- Document activities in designated databases and systems
- Prepare and deliver activity reports to Health Promotion and Wellness leadership
- Monitor program outcomes and data quality
- Order and maintain supplies for health coaching, screening, and wellness services
- Ensure compliance with PA DOH lab licensure and CLIA waiver requirements
- Assist with peer orientation and ongoing development
- Participate in departmental, cross-functional, and organizational meetings
- Work onsite at the Capital Blue Cross Connect Center, travel to community events, and occasionally work remotely
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Nutrition, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, or a related health field from an accredited college or university required
- Typically requires 1-3 years of experience in health education, health promotion, wellness coaching, public health, nutrition, exercise science, or a related field
- Experience developing and delivering health education, health coaching, and wellness programs for individuals and groups across diverse settings
- Experience facilitating educational content, supporting behavior change through coaching and goal setting, and delivering wellness interventions in both in-person and virtual environments
- Experience documenting member interactions, program activities, and health coaching services in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and member management systems
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN), Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), or other relevant health and wellness certification preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications necessary to support biometric screening activities
- Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and credentials applicable to job responsibilities
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Must undergo and obtain criminal and child abuse background clearances
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and motivational interviewing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other technology platforms
- Ability to analyze information and support quality enhancement initiatives
- Ability to travel throughout the Capital Blue Cross service area
- Flexibility to participate in activities occasionally outside standard business hours
