About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Join Capital Power as a Financial Analyst and member of the finance team
  • Participate in Capital Power’s Financial Development & Accreditation Program (FDAP), a CPA pre-approved development program
  • Rotate through a minimum of three different Finance department areas, spending approximately one year in each position
  • Develop experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate tax, operational accounting/reporting, external financial reporting, or internal audit
  • Develop technical, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Obtain practical experience required for the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate Business/Commerce degree, including all prerequisites to immediately enter the CPA PEP program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Copy of transcripts is mandatory
  • Ability to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
