About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess the impacts of significant unusual transactions
- Assess new accounting standards and regulations
- Prepare the Company’s quarterly and annual financial statements
- Advise on technical accounting matters and prepare supporting memos on an ad hoc basis
- Monitor technical accounting matters and communicate them to auditors and senior management quarterly
- Prepare supporting working papers quarterly and annually
- Prepare or review notes and supporting working papers for quarterly and annual financial statements
- Advise on transactional impacts to AFFO on an ad hoc basis
- Monitor IFRS developments and prepare quarterly memos to the Audit Committee summarizing significant changes
- Prepare an IFRS disclosure checklist supporting quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures
- Perform various SOX controls as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- A professional accounting designation
- Experience working with IFRS
- A minimum of 3 years of post-designation accounting experience
- Past experience working as part of a Financial Reporting team
- Experience working for a publicly listed company is an asset
- Experience with Oracle is an asset
- Experience with US GAAP is an asset
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Successful candidate must undergo education verification, reference checks and criminal record check
- Ability to work 8 hours per day with reasonable overtime required during quarter ends
- Availability during core hours from 7:30–8:30 through 4:30–5:30
