About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the project and assist with overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system
  • Work directly with customers, systems engineers, developers, and the UX team to define, build, test, and deliver mission-driven software capabilities
  • Elicit and document functional requirements from the government customer and stakeholders
  • Decompose functional requirements into detailed technical requirements
  • Translate technical requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Curate and groom the sprint backlog, sizing and sequencing stories
  • Serve as a point of contact for developers and help remove implementation blockers
  • Conduct initial functional testing before broader QA and customer review
  • Present completed features to the government customer and gather feedback
  • Collaborate with the UX team on designs
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s degree can be substituted for two (2) years experience
  • Ability to work directly with customers and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document functional requirements
  • Ability to translate requirements into actionable Jira user stories and epics for development teams
  • Experience conducting functional/manual testing of application features
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical work to non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with software development concepts, such as Java or JavaScript frameworks and RESTful microservices, sufficient to communicate effectively with developers
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architecture and deployment using Amazon Web Services (desired)
  • Exposure to UX/design collaboration or wireframing tools (desired)
  • Familiarity with government agency reporting and dissemination policies (desired)
  • Position is open for direct hires only; candidates from third-party staffing/recruiting firms will not be considered
