About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and ship React Native apps for iOS and Android using TypeScript
- Use AI coding agents to implement features, refactor code, and generate tests
- Define clear AI-agent tasks and constraints, provide context, and validate changes through code review, automated tests, and real-device checks
- Own the full mobile lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, automated testing, release management, monitoring, and iteration
- Integrate native capabilities such as push notifications, deep links, biometric authentication, cameras, and sensors
- Write and maintain native modules in Swift/Kotlin when needed
- Drive mobile performance and reliability, including startup time, bundle size, memory, and battery
- Meet accessibility best practices
- Set up and evolve mobile CI/CD, internal testing, and release pipelines
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Medical on patient-centric features and platform improvements
- Connect AI-assisted development workflows to design and engineering tools via MCP
- Protect patient data, credentials, and sensitive information from unapproved tools and workflows
- Uphold architecture, code quality, and security in a regulated healthcare environment
- Contribute to a platform powering regulated digital health products for IBS, GERD, and upcoming indications
- Mentor developers and raise the team’s technical bar
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 3 years focused on React Native and shipping production apps
- Expertise in React Native and TypeScript, React Navigation, state management, and testing
- Experience with Jest and React Native Testing Library; Detox is a plus
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents for feature implementation, refactoring, and automated tests
- Experience connecting AI agents to engineering tools via MCP
- Ability to scope AI-assisted work, verify results, and handle tool permissions and sensitive data
- Proven experience delivering apps to the App Store and Google Play
- Experience handling certificates/provisioning, in-app updates, and staged rollouts
- Understanding of mobile security and privacy, including secure storage, keychain/keystore, certificate pinning, data minimization, and PII handling
- Experience with mobile CI/CD and release automation using Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or Bitrise
- Experience with tools such as Sentry
- Experience working in product-centric teams with non-technical stakeholders
- Care for UX and accessibility
- Candidates must reside in Germany
- Bonus: experience in regulated industries, healthcare, or security-conscious environments
- Bonus: native iOS/Android development with Swift/Kotlin
