About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide telephonic clinical assessments, health education, and utilization management services
- Conduct triage assessments using telecommunications, computer-based algorithms, protocols, and guidelines
- Use the nursing process to identify patient care needs, risks, safety issues, educational opportunities, and appropriate healthcare referrals
- Process calls according to Quality Management guidelines
- Meet product-specific performance metrics
- Assess, disposition, make care recommendations, and provide education and health information
- Apply nursing standards, company policies, and shared principles during clinical assessments
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance and punctuality
- Work four weekend shifts per month, either every Saturday or every other weekend
- Work evening schedules including at least two weekend days every two weeks
- Complete 2–4 weeks of virtual interactive classroom training, with the first two weeks during daytime hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current, unrestricted RN licensure in a compact state that is the state of residence
- Must reside in a compact state and maintain a compact multistate license
- Current home state RN license in good standing
- Minimum of an associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or Diploma Nursing Program; BSN preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Registered Nurse clinical experience
- Ability to become licensed in additional states as required
- Must currently reside and have a Multi-State (compact) unrestricted RN license in AL, AR, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MS, MO, MT, NE, NM, NC, ND, NH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI, or WY
- RN must attend training 100% of hours and pass intra-training testing components
- RNs must maintain the mandatory number of CEU credits per year to maintain all assigned licenses
- Ability to apply clinical knowledge to meet clinical business standards
- Ability to run multiple computer programs simultaneously
- Ability to determine when to escalate issues appropriately and timely
- Comprehensive communication skills, including listening, reflection, and clarification
- Telephone triage experience and understanding of health benefit plans and the insurance industry are helpful but not required
- Bilingual skills are a plus
