About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage internal quality of care referrals and support quality initiatives under Clinical Services and CareOregon Quality Health Outcomes
- Complete Quality of Care reviews
- Work with the Director of Quality of Care to address quality and clinical issues in a timely and thorough manner
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation for quality of care files
- Use QNXT, SharePoint, and Smartsheet for quality monitoring
- Coordinate and facilitate risk-reduction strategies for quality and patient safety issues
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality of care processes work effectively
- Conduct annual and other trainings as needed
- Lead implementation and ongoing administration of health improvement programs
- Provide feedback to the Quality of Care Director and others
- Identify education and training programs for network providers, members, healthcare workers, and CareOregon staff supporting appeals and grievance processes
- Develop and monitor tracking systems for quality-of-care issue data, provider trends, and related clinical quality sources
- Provide clinical expertise in evaluating program outcomes and planning program activities
- Apply CMS, OAR, contract requirements, and other regulatory standards
- Apply and help develop and implement the Equity First approach
- Participate in contract review, peer review, and quality oversight committees
- Participate in provider site visits as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3 years of experience as an RN in the healthcare industry
- Current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in the State of Oregon
- Prior primary care and/or specialty clinic practice experience and behavioral health experience highly desired
- RN experience with quality improvement, population health and/or case management
- Knowledge of or desire to learn about current clinical practices, specifically issues related to quality of care
- Ability to glean clinical information from medical records or specialized software and save supporting documentation in appropriate data management tools
- Critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Competency with PDF, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and EMR systems
- Ability to learn and adapt to new EMR systems, software programs, specification changes, and deadlines
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information
- Awareness of social determinants of health
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
- Initiative and motivation; ability to collaborate and plan effectively
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and switch tasks as needed
- Ability to work under pressure and meet regulatory deliverable deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work across departments
- Ability to prioritize work in a remote environment
- Ability to learn, focus, understand, evaluate information, and determine appropriate actions
- Ability to accept direction and feedback, and tolerate and manage stress
- Ability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movement for at least 6 hours/day
- Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3–6 hours/day
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or pinch small objects for at least 1–3 hours/day
