About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the development and maintenance of the enterprise design language system
Ensure the design system is scalable, accessible, and aligned with industry best practices
Design and build design system infrastructure, including token systems and transformation tools or pipelines
Design, build, and maintain design system documentation and infrastructure for publishing documentation
Design, build, and maintain design tool plugins and custom tooling used by designers
Build design system implementations, including component libraries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement design patterns, components, and guidelines
Monitor emerging technologies and design trends and incorporate relevant advancements
Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the organization
Contribute to design and technology strategy through idea validation, rapid prototyping, UI code quality, and systems thinking
Co-define success measures, test assumptions and outcomes, and incorporate feedback
Coordinate with design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication
Mentor team members
Perform other job duties as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design, Computer Science, Business, a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
Five (5) years of professional design engineering experience is required
Experience developing complex or enterprise-level design language systems
Knowledge of different technology solutions in the healthcare space
Ability to learn new technology to support business direction and customer needs
Expertise in design thinking principles and design engineering
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to influence cross-functional teams, set priorities, manage projects, and deliver results based on requirements and goals
Comfortable and confident interacting with business partners and senior/executive leadership
Strong interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Design, User Experience Design, or development certification is strongly desired
Knowledge of the healthcare and/or managed care ecosystem is a plus
