About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain clinical equipment through the Medical Equipment Management Plan
Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair biomedical equipment
Perform preventive, predictive, repair maintenance, and other scheduled services
Perform repairs and technical activities with minimal supervision
Maintain equipment inventory records and parts
Communicate the use of supported devices
Oversee department-related projects
Mentor BMET 1 technicians and teach basic skills
Provide comprehensive support for acuity equipment used in direct patient care
Troubleshoot and repair medical equipment independently, including during on-call duties
Solve service-line customer service problems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
Illinois driver's license
Associate's Degree in a related field, or experience in lieu of education
Biomedical work experience
Comprehensive understanding of common clinical terminology, anatomy and physiology
Working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, and network medical systems
Good oral and written communication and customer service skills
Ability to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment independently, specifically when on call
