  • Transcribe and communicate normal laboratory results to patients
  • Perform office procedures according to department competencies and protocols
  • Collect point-of-care diagnostic specimens, including urine samples and buccal swabs
  • Participate in department flu clinics, including vaccine administration and documentation
  • Provide written instructions regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care
  • Retrieve and provide condition-specific patient education materials
  • Administer medications according to provider orders
  • Assist with prescription refill requests and communicate approved prescription orders to pharmacies
  • Document medication refill activities and patient communications in the EMR
  • Maintain competencies related to point-of-care testing, equipment operation, and specialty training
  • Provide coverage support for Addiction Recovery on Kirby as needed
  • Process high volumes of prior authorizations and prescription refill requests
  • Enter data into databases and logs for statistical tracking and reporting
  • Create, maintain, and update spreadsheets and electronic records
  • Prepare routine correspondence and administrative documentation
  • Maintain accurate patient and departmental records
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure efficient patient care coordination

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from ARMA, AAH, or AMT; or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from NCCT or AAMA; or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) certification from NAHP; or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification from NHA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 30 days
  • H.S. Diploma/GED
  • Ability to perform routine administrative and patient care support duties
  • Ability to collect vital signs and complete medication reconciliation
  • Ability to perform office procedures according to department competencies and protocols
  • Ability to collect point-of-care diagnostic specimens, including urine samples and buccal swabs
  • Ability to administer medications according to provider orders
  • Ability to use EMR systems, databases, logs, spreadsheets, and electronic records
  • Ability to process prior authorizations and prescription refill requests
  • Ability to maintain accurate patient and departmental records
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Ability to provide coverage support for Addiction Recovery on Kirby as needed
