About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Room patients and collect chief complaint, family, social, surgical, and medication information
- Conduct telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities
- Maintain patient information according to department processes and policies
- Perform check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, referrals, and testing coordination
- Carry out office procedures and clinical procedures such as bladder scanning and suture or staple removal
- Provide procedure, medication, follow-up, and condition-specific patient education
- Administer medications and vaccines under provider orders
- Process prescription refills, communicate with pharmacies and patients, and document actions in the EMR
- Complete normal lab results and prescription refills from the nurse work list
- Obtain detailed medical histories during prenatal intake appointments
- Assist with IUD insertion and removal, biopsies, and colposcopies
- Perform all duties of MA staff and contribute to customer service, team building, and problem-solving
Requirements
What you’ll need- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
- One of the listed medical assistant credentials: RMA (AAH), CMA (NCCT), CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NRCMA (NAHP), CCMA (NHA), or RMA (ARMA)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated competency in point-of-care testing, equipment handling, specialty training, and medication compounding or dilution
