About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the emotional and spiritual needs of youth, families, and healthcare staff
- Bring a holistic approach to clients as emotional and spiritual beings with behavioral health challenges
- Support youth care in inpatient and outpatient settings as part of the treatment team
- Collaborate with the treatment team in crisis response, conflict management, and situational de-escalation
- Provide contextual emotional and spiritual support that complements treatment plans
- Utilize youths' electronic medical records to support care needs
- Work with religiously preoccupied youth in collaboration with the treatment team
- Collaborate with campus inpatient teams to provide care and support
- Manage assigned duties as a staff chaplain on a regional hospital campus
- Conduct visit rounds and respond to medical crises in designated staff chaplain roles
- Complete annual training and education and maintain knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
- Attend department staff meetings
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and training for PRN chaplains
- Deliver behavioral health educational in-service training for department staff and spiritual care training for behavioral health staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Certified Chaplain certification
- Master's Degree in Theology
- Ability to comply with state and federal guidelines, including HIPPA confidentiality guidelines
- Ability to advocate for diversity and inclusion needs
- Ability to support other faith group leaders while remaining HIPPA compliant
- Ability to support youth care in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Ability to collaborate with treatment teams in crisis response, conflict management, and situational de-escalation
- Knowledge of a recognized child development model that includes personality formation
- Understanding of common behavioral health challenges affecting youth
- Ability to use electronic medical records as part of the treatment team
- Ability to work with religiously preoccupied youth in collaboration with the treatment team
- Ability to complete annual employee training and education
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of department policies and procedures
- Ability to attend department staff meetings
- Ability to provide team leadership, mentoring, and training for PRN chaplains
- Ability to provide behavioral health educational in-service training and spiritual care training
