Key responsibilities & impact
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests
  • Respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to ill and injured people
  • Check and monitor ambulance readiness
  • Clearly communicate crew and vehicle position at all times
  • Clean ambulances, utility vehicles, and crew quarters daily
  • Provide direction to EMTs while on ambulance calls
  • Transport patients in wheelchair vans when needed
  • Complete assigned daily and weekly duties during work hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) License Illinois Upon Hire
  • Driver's License Upon Hire
  • National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 200 within 6 Months
  • National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 700 within 6 Months
  • National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 800 within 6 Months
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 6 Months
  • Emergency Response to Terrorism (ERT) Certification within 6 Months
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts from 1800-0600
  • Weekend work every other weekend
  • Holiday work required
  • On-call availability required
