About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support licensed nursing staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Perform personal care and hygiene activities for assigned patients
- Facilitate communication with departments, visitors, patients, medical staff, and employees
- Maintain unit supplies, including stocking nurse servers, cleaning instruments and equipment, ordering supplies, and making charts
- Collect patient data and ensure accurate documentation
- Measure vital signs, monitor blood glucose, and measure and record intake and output
- Perform or assist with activities of daily living
- Prepare patients for transportation and transport patients
- Support care for critical adult and pediatric patients
- Update whiteboards and perform meaningful hourly rounding
- Float within the hospital as needed
- Serve as a sitter when required
- Assist with bedside procedure setup
Requirements
What you’ll need- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Relevant medical military training; or completion of CNA coursework within past 24 months; or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); or at least one semester of nursing clinical experience; or worked as CNA within past 24 months; or successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program
- Availability for 2 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Weekend requirement: every third weekend
- Holiday requirement: every other holiday
