About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Office of Grants Management and ensure quality, compliance, and service standards
  • Interview, train, onboard, schedule paid leave, report payroll, and monitor employee performance
  • Ensure compliance with Carle standard operating procedures and accepted grant regulations
  • Assist project directors and leadership with financial and administrative grant proposal components
  • Review and submit grants on behalf of Carle Health
  • Interpret and advise on sponsor application instructions, terms, and conditions
  • Monitor post-award activities, including cost allowability, sponsor invoicing, financial and progress reporting, extensions, and scope or budget changes
  • Initiate, review, and amend consortium agreements and issue or obtain sub-awards
  • Maintain project management timelines and review proposals for conformity with solicitation guidelines
  • Respond to sponsor, funding agency, and internal administrative inquiries
  • Maintain payroll allocations and grant obligations and issue and audit monthly Effort Certifications
  • Participate in Grants Module workstreams, test new features, resolve cross-functional issues, and deploy training assets
  • Support grant-related aspects of reorganizations and acquisitions
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and Indirect Cost Rate Agreement negotiations
  • Assist with grant policies, operating procedures, training, and other accounting transactions
  • Maintain complete, accurate, current grant records and collaborate on grant audits and closeout documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Leadership in a related field
  • Experience in a related field
  • Ability to review and submit federal, state, local government, and private grant applications
  • Knowledge of grant finance, compliance, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage pre-award and post-award grant activities
  • Ability to interpret sponsor application instructions, terms, and conditions
  • Experience with sponsor billing, budget revisions, no-cost extensions, supplemental funding requests, and financial/progress reports
  • Ability to manage inter-institutional consortium agreements and sub-awards
  • Knowledge of payroll allocations, grant obligations, and Effort Certifications
  • Ability to participate in Grants Module workstreams, test releases, and create training assets
  • Ability to assist with indirect cost rate negotiations, grant policies, procedures, and training
