About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine direct patient care duties assisting medical and nursing staff with patient examination and treatment
- Maintain the patient care environment and supplies to ensure privacy and safety
- Participate as a team member of the division/department
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve potential safety problems
- Act as a preceptor and support development of other staff and healthcare students
- Ensure care documentation is complete and accurate
- Perform intake tasks including height, weight, blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse, pain assessment, and medication review
- Order supplies and maintain par levels in exam rooms
- Maintain patient/provider schedule flow
- Support nursing staff
- Maintain expiration logs for supplies and medications
- Perform EKGs
- Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output
Requirements
What you’ll need- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Knowledge of infection control, including adequate hand washing
- Ability to accurately measure, record, and report intake and output
- Ability to monitor and record vital signs
- Ability to maintain patient privacy and safety
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete documentation
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe workplace
- Ability to establish good working relationships with coworkers, nursing and medical staff, and the general public
